This is a new one for me. Since I started syringe feeding with canned food, no matter how hard I try, Boo has a stcky beard after he has finished eating. Because he gets upset, when I touch his face, it has been a challenge to keep the area around his mouth clean.

Any one have a helpful hint or best practice for addressing this issue?

Hmmm. I’m not sure HOW you would do it without washing his face. I think you just need to be firm but gentle, and then just offer him a delicious treat. (If he’ll take it… I know that’s a problem right now!)

Right now, I have been washing his face with a warm wash cloth, blow drying the area, and gently combing out any remnants. He does express his vocal displeasure but probably, as you observed, cant get around washing the face.
