Boo’s Dad,
I have known Boo for less than two weeks. I am new to the forum, but it feels like I knew him for years. I read your loving diaries tearing while reading, thinking of my Scottie,Trotsky, whom we lost 2 years ago. I share your feelings of loss and the richness of having loved and been loved by such wonderful creatures. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful thoughts and your love for Boo.
To wonderful memories!

Boo had an amazing long full life and was fortunate to wind up with the best dad in the world who stood by his side through thick and thin. They always take a piece of our heart with them when they go. Their lives are so short, however I think God did that on purpose so we can see our dogs through to the end and help them over the bridge, one of our most important dog responsibilities. Boo's dad, I hope you are at peace knowing you were such a wonderful dad to Boo. I know Boo is at peace now.

Thank you all for toasting Boo, and helping me to celebrate his life tonight. I’m glad that so many people read his 3 Diaries (at 18, 19, and 20). That way he will not be forgotten. Hopefully, new members will see his journals and learn about his extraordinary life and travels.
He will NEVER be forgotten by the people who met the two of you here on the forum. He was a really special character, even on top of his age! We are all so lucky that you brought him into our lives!

Two days ago, I ordered a “Boo Mobile” (sports car dog bed) for ZT’s puppies. I promise that I will take photos of them in it and post them in Boo’s honor!!!

Thank you all for your kind seniments. My days will be much more lonely without my boy, Boy. Even though, he required a tremendous amount of care in his final 12 months, he stayed happy, playing his puzzle games and eating his animal crackers until the last few days of his life. The final diagnosis was acute pancreatitis, which appears without warning. Even with the best diet and care, it can pop up out of the blue. Although I realize that Boo had an extremely long life, much longer than probably 99% of other Havanese, I am still so grief stricken and can find no solace at the moment.

Take your time to grieve him, and there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do it. He was an incredible companion and we are all here to comfort you the most we can, or just to empathize when you need people who get it that this is so, so hard. Sending hugs. Our hearts are with you ❤

That is completely understandable. In some ways, the longer we have them, the more attached we become. And he clearly was a very, VERY special boy! Our hearts are with you.

I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Boo came into the world on Halloween and departed from the world on St. Patrick’s Day, two major party holidays in SOCAL. Intentional or Coincidence? Was Boo the ultimate party animal? After all, he did revel in his cookies and puzzle games. I just don’t know. I just hope he caught that blimey leprechaun and got his pot of gold as he was running over the rainbow.

I am just reading this now and am so very very sad to hear of Boo’s passing. I would sometimes share some of the passages & pics of your various threads with my family, especially those leading up to his 20th birthday. Thank you so very much for sharing those memories with the HF. Just like Boo, they were priceless and he will live on with so many others because of the diaries. He was a most special fella, and you, his most amazing human. Condolences and hugs. 💗

I haven't been online in a few days and was very sad to see this when I came to the forum today. I'm so sorry for your loss! It was an inspiration to read of all the things Boo was doing at his age - it gave many of us hope that we might have our pups with us that long.

Our Boo-Mobile arrived, and ZT was the first to take it for a spin. Pixel was waiting (impatiently!) for her turn! 💗

That’s an adorable picture. Hope they all enjoy it as much as Boo did.
I know that every time I see any of my dogs in it, it will remind me of your grand old man! ❤
