Piper is roughly 10.5lbs at 20 months. The only time she is crated is overnight when we go to sleep (her crate is in our bedroom). She goes right to sleep in her crate no problem and is quiet until I wake her up in the morning to let her out. We are well past using the crate for potty training purposes, so it really is just a bed for her to sleep in overnight at this point. This whole time she has been using the midwest 24-inch crate with a soft bed on the bottom and a couple blankets, but I'm wondering if I should get a roomier crate?
Is the crate supposed to be big enough for your dog to "sploot" in? Like I don't necessariy think her crate is very small for her (it's definitely fine width and height wise) but if she wanted to be able to lay with her back legs fully stretched out behind her in a "sploot" she wouln't be able to...so maybe it's not long enough?
Also, does anyone have any crate recs that look a bit nicer and more like furniture? Since it's clear the crate is going to be a permanent fixture in our lives for bedtime, it'd be nice to not have such an eyesore in the bedroom lol
