Once full grown, our dogs get these as "bedroom crates":

The smaller one is FINE for "normal sized" Havanese. Kodi is larger, AND he's old, AND a friend gifted us this large, Australian Cattle Dog sized one when her dog passed. It is luxuriously large, even for Kodi, but he deserves it. ;) He also has his "patio" with his "night time potty", because he can't make it through the night without bathroom breaks, and I was tired of getting up with him at 0 dark 30! LOL!

The smaller ones are from Wayfair, and we also have a set of them down in our dining room, which are their "eating crates"! Set end to end, they make a nice plant bench too! We don't keep bedding in the "eating crates", because they are only in those for meals!

Oh those look really nice!! I'll have to check out what wayfair has!

So it's not a problem if the crate isn't long enough for them to fully stretch with their legs behind them you think? I felt bad becaue sometimes Piper sleeps like that on the couch or my bed (she hangs out up there with us before bedtime) but her current crate isn't big enough length-wise for that...
Ducky and Pixel can stretch out in these... But if you wanted you can go up a size. There is no reason to go smaller except to save space. The reason to go small for a puppy is that a non-potty trained puppy usually will not potty in the place they sleep. So if the crate is small enough that they can't get away from the spot where they lie down to be able to eliminate. But at this stage, Piper isn't going to eliminate in her crate anyway, so you can give her as much space as you want! If you wanted to give her a palace like Kodi's you could! :)

Oh, and I don't mention Panda, because she sleeps in bed with us. Long story. ;)
