I am not sure even where to post this. Dionna, my love bug but at times mischievous 3 year old, this evening, got into two (I think two) small white powdered donuts I had on the kitchen table next to my cup of tea. I dont normally even get donuts but felt like it today. I got a phone call and went upstairs and then I heard noises downstairs and went to investigate. Well, she must have reached up and reached the napkin they were sitting on and pulled it. I think two donuts ended up on the floor. She ran with one in her mouth and I pulled some out. But then before I even realized that a second one had rolled under the table on the floor, she ran to it and took it to her crate and began to eat it. It was too late to get it out of her mouth and I did not want to create a choking hazard.

These are the small/mini white soft donuts from krispy creme. They are covered in powder sugar (although a lot of the sugar got all over the place and I cleaned that up).

She seems to be acting fine. In fact, she seems quite pleased with herself LOL. There were no nuts or chocolate in the donuts.

I will obviously monitor her. Is there anything else that I need to do other than be more careful? Thanks for the help.

She really is a sneaky peanut at times (I call her my peanut because she is the color of a peanut)!

Just guard your donuts very carefully and watch if she gets into anything nasty for her.:thumb:

not to worry, doesn't sound like anything in there that could be dangerous. Now diarrhea is always a possibility :boom: Macadamia nuts are toxic.

I am sorry that I did not get a video of the whole caper because it really was funny; it unfolded so quickly. She seemed quite pleased with herself, that is for sure.

It is also ironic because I dont normally even get these donuts and I feel like her caper 'outed' my snack attack LOL.

In all seriousness, I try to be so careful with her and I dont even bring macademia nuts into the house. I am going to be more careful now with food on the table because I think she will try again :)

So far this morning she seems fine.

I guess you could always stop using napkins if that is what she was going for. We all know how they love napkins! She really hit the jackpot with the donuts being on them. She must have been in heaven with that bonus.!! keep us posted

I think she was originally drawn to the napkin and then got the unexpected treat of donuts. She has been fine today. She did one semi-mega poop which I am assuming was due to the donuts.

Do Havaneses smell paper? I ask because this morning she was sniffing around a pair of shorts that my hubby had neatly folded on the chair. I observed this and inspected the shorts to see if there was anything on them to warrent such sniffing. Well, lo and behold, there was a kleenex in his pocket. I think somehow she knew and was trying to figure out how to get it. She is very sneaky about paper :)

That's funny :) Sorry you didn't get your donuts but boy was she a happy camper. Now she will probably be wanting to get napkins all the more because she was so rewarded last time. BEWARE. If you thought she was a paper fanatic before .... ho ho ho ho

I know from experience :)

It seems my husband always has kleenex in his pocket. Bama has been known to steal them out of his pockets while cuddling before bedtime.

Mine love to get the napkins I forget to throw away. Tula will grab anything she finds on the floor, all three surf the TV table I have between the reclines-last winter Mr Roman helped him self to the last drops of Baileys Irish Creme that I had left in a glass on said table. I called the vet in a panic- she laughed said he would be fine just a little sleepy-now I have to watch all three to keep them out of trouble.

I am NOT one to casually drink or eat something my dogs have been in, but similar to you Pat, one time I had a glass of Baileys on the rocks and I turned around to see Lucy lapping up my Baileys... needless to say that time I just swirled the ice cubes with my finger, licked my finger off and continued to drink my drink. Both Lucy and I were feeling fine that night.
