When Freddie was 9 weeks old our breeder told us to feed him three times a day. He was just under 4 pounds at the time. We are still feeding him three times a day. He is now 24 weeks and almost 9 pounds. He gets a total of 2/3 cups a day of Fromms Gold puppy food split into three portions. based on the instructions on the bag. He also gets a small amount of. training treats for small dogs that I’ve cut in half. He seems to be a good weight. We are following recommendations on the bag

QUESTION: at what point do we switch to twice a day? The current schedule is fine. Was just wondering if there is something about the twice a day approach I should know about.

I tell my puppy owners to stick with 3 times a day untill at least 6 months or until the puppy starts dropping one meal on their own. (Many do)

Got it. He’s a good eater and shows no signs of dropping a meal. I guess as long as he eats the right amount each day, he will let me know. Thanks!
