..and look at this pigment!! Not even all black toes, but the nose was in earlier than any red puppy we've ever seen.
Could it be ‘Havana brown’? Have never seen one! We've never had, nor seen one like this. This is from Ember's first litter. Ember is a Really dark Red like an Irish Setter.
This is probably some shade of Red???
We have no Chocolate genes in our lines.

She is SO gorgeous! i love how red looks on a havanese.Dapper is also a Grandson of our Posh. A result of one of our breedings out to bring in new blood, but keeping Posh strong in it. Posh is Karen's Kodi's Sire, as well as strong in the pedigree of many high ranking performance dogs.
We've still been too busy to update our website, which was built with software that is no longer supported, so I can't edit anything, much less add pages.
Here's a picture of Ember. I think this was taken when she was about a year. Now past two years old, the red is much deeper and darker.

You're probably correct about it being a dark red but i wonder if its possibly some sort of reddening of a brown coat with the chinchilla gene, which unfortunately still is not well understood. it will be fun to see their colors change! From my understanding the C locus is in charge of how much "red" or "brown" is expressed in a coat and can affect how vibrant the tan points are on a dog. We've never had, nor seen one like this. Wow! We know it’s NOT chocolate, so it has to be either sable or clear red, but boy, it looks almost exactly the same color as Ping at this point! It will be really interesting to see how it develops!!!We've never had, nor seen one like this. This is from Ember's first litter. Ember is a Really dark Red like an Irish Setter.
