Recently noticed that the skin on my one year old's belly, especially in the groin area, has developed a purplish hue. Don't know if this something I should be concerned about or if this "normal". This is my first Havanese and I admit I don't know alot about these kinds of things. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If this is new then I would be concerned about bruising and how it happened. Is the behaviour normal i.e., feeling good?

I think a lot of dog's skin darkens as they get older. With all the different skin and hair colors on Havs it probably is nothing to worry about. I hope someone can jump in here that actually knows something for sure!

Sounds like an Allergy, dogs lick their belly's, paws, rub their faces and scratch often the face. The saliva in their mouth turns the skin purple or black, when the allergy clears up it can take a long time for it to go away.
