Any SF Bay Area Havanese owners?

I have a 7 month old little girl and would love to meet other owners and their dogs in the SF Bay Area. This is my second Havanese.

Hello San Francisco Bay Area Havanese!

The forum already has a group called “Havanese Club of Northern California.” So let’s use that.

In that group I started this discussion - in July 2021 - titled: “San Francisco Bay Area Havanese Gathering.” So lets use this discussion for future arrangements.

Let’s plan on getting together once a quarter. Or, perhaps, every other month as weather permits. We can decide together.

Vinny had a great time. He is now dreaming of his doggy buddies.

Hello everyone, I know we JUST had the “quarterly” gathering, but wondered if perhaps anyone was open to a meet up mid-June? Remy was in his element, quite literally, and we loved meeting all the Havanese pups. We found out that Zoey and Remy have the same birthday on 6/15, and wondered if perhaps a fun play date/celebration with his fellow Havanese would be doable?
As 6/15 is midweek, wanted to see how many could potentially make it Saturday 6/11 vs 6/18? I saw that you had previously met in a Newark dog park— not sure what’s most central for most owners. If most cannot do it, of course this wouldn’t be the official gathering, but would be lovely to see a few friendly and adorable Havanese faces!
Hope everyone is remaining healthy and free from spring allergies and pandemic problems!

Love this! And Jolene’s first birthday is June 20th!!! I think we could do either week, and am open to location— I don’t typically like dog parks bc they can be a bit but I recall that the Newark one was pretty quiet. It’s definitely closer for us, but we don’t mind doing RWC if that’s what works better for the broader group. I can’t recall where ppl are located except I know Pamela (Zoey’s mom) and I are both east bay.

Wow! Three of our pups’ bdays within days. Definitely an occasion worth celebrating. Newark closer for us (we’re in Fremont), but not a huge trek for us to head to the peninsula if for the greater good.☺ Have never been to the Newark one, but your experience seems to have been good from the previous posts! Will wait to hear from others, but June 18th appears to be winning by the slimmest of margins?

Alright, was waiting to see if more would reply, and it sounds like there’s general consensus for Saturday, June 18. Most are flexible for location, so am fine to set it in the Peninsula, as that works best for Kat/Lucy. Shall we say same place, then: Redwood Shores at 10 am? And will be able to celebrate turning 1 with Zoey, Jolene, and Remy, among their Havanese friends! Please feel free to chime in if any other suggestions or ideas!
