The East Coast had severe weather this morning and I was wondering....do your Havs tend to NOT want to eat because they do not want to go outside to relieve themselves later?

I tried to take the boys outside this morning prior to breakfast and the boys had no interest in relieving themselves or for that fact wanting to be outside. The wind was blowing pretty hard, wet but not pouring down...I figure we get outside before it got really bad outside.

Brought them back inside and both of them had no interest in eating.

Later when we had a little break in weather, I pretty much had to drag the boys outside to do their business. I got a pee and poo! They had no interest being outside at this time.

When the weather was clear...I had no problem with the boys wanting to be outside and relieving themselves.

Needless to say, both of the boys ate good tonight!

On other occasions, I have noticed that Dexter will tend to drink water when I get home from work because I thinks he knows I will take him outside.

What do you think?

My Jack seems to love the nasty weather. The worse, the better, the evil wretch.

I know my girls hate bad weather and so do I. I think if they aren't eating maybe they are scared .:)

Another east coaster here... I know exactly the storm you were talking about. We had crazy lightning in the early morning.

Luckily, Gracie is a trooper. She's a puppy, and having never experienced thunderstorms before, she didn't have any issues (which is amazing to me, considering some of the simple things that seem to freak her out). I mean, if you think about it from the dog's perspective, I wouldn't want to go outside in a thunderstorm to pee either!

But it sounds like you're having a bigger issue than that. I know sometimes when the weather is really bad, I've had some success going outside with her. If daddy is outside in the wind and rain with her, she can last long enough to do her business. Of course, that's not always true, and not very convenient for me. One time I tried taking an umbrella outside and she started barking at it (lol, like I said - she's fine in a thunderstorm, but an umbrella bothers her) and then went into a runlikehell that left me with a very wet puppy.

Hope you get it figured out!

Living in North Dakota, the wind and temps can be extremely bad. Thankfully Stella doesn't know any better so it doesn't bother her a bit. When the temps are below zero, she does her business pretty quickly :)
