Hi all, my Cole is 2.5 months old. She wiggled out of my sons arms earlier today and fell on her side, hit her head and side. She yelped and we grabbed and cuddled and rubbed her, she seemed fine. Played, ate etc for the next few hours. Now she's very lethargic and won't eat, laying about and not herself at all. Should I be as worried as I am? 🥺😢

I would definitely recommend getting her checked out asap. Our pup had a fall at about the same age, and she ended up being fine, but it made us feel SO much better to get her a workup… and if there had been a problem, we could have treated it before it got any worse. And any sudden change in behavior after an accident is definitely a sign to get her in to see a vet. That’s usually the very first question they ask. Let us know how it goes!

I agree with LWalks, the sudden change in behavior after a fall is a sure sign that she needs to be checked out thoroughly by a vet.

For future reference, Havanese puppies can be very fast, very wiggy and very unpredictable. For this reason, children should be taught to ALWAYS play with them sitting on the floor, and not carry them around. Even with adults, it can be a good idea to carry them with a finger hooked through their collar or harness. They are wiggly little worms!

Thank you all so much, she’s just had dinner and running around, I’ll take her in tomorrow morning if she doesn’t continue to seem herself and keep checking on her through the night! Thanks so much again…

This applies to Havanese adults too :). I still book a dinner in Perry’s harness when I'm carrying him and until he's firmly at on the ground because he occasionally does still try to wiggle or if my arms especially when he gets impatient as I'm print him down

Book a dinner? Tee hee. You must be thinking about food! 😉
