All provide has less product in their one lb package every time I lightly sautéed it. I’d like to know if there is glycophate in dr Harvey’s raw vibrance since the verges are not organic. What do you think of raw vibrance?
If a grain, legume or vegetable is not organic, I personally assume there are pesticides in it. Non GMO is not safe either because non GMO grains and legumes are commonly dessicated with glysophate.

Wow. So dr Harvey’s raw vibrance is a no. Do you know of any other base mix t that I can add my own protein to that would be freeze dried and nutritious? Stella’s?
The base mix from Four Leaf Rover looks good. I am not familiar with other base mixes, however The Pet Health and Nutrition Center sells some great supplements to help people who want to feed homemade. Four Leaf Rover does also. For example, they sell bone meal and organ supplements.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean... I've been lightly cooking both All Provide and Viva Raw since H5N1 started showing up across so many animals - and yes, the volume of the food is smaller when cooked than when raw, because some of the water evaporates when heated - but I haven't noticed any reduction in volume in any of the packages over time. I feed a third of a one pound package to Marco for one meal, whether it's raw or cooked, and it has the same number of calories in either state.

You could always put a bit of water, bone broth or goat milk in the food bowl, if you're concerned that the volume seems too small, but I don't even bother, it's just a tiny bit. If you're losing a lot of volume, you may be cooking the food too much.

I can't really speak to the nutritional elements of it (though it did look good to me) but we use it (for one meal a day and Stella and Chewy freeze dried for the other) and Perry is absolutely mad for it. I think though that there were a couple of other dogs here who weren't so keen on it so if you do go with it, get a small bag first to try.

I believe Ernzo didn't like it. I do not know any dog who has eaten it except Perry and Enzo. I guess there is a risk with any food that a dog may not like it. Ideally companies would sell small amounts so people can try it out.

Yeah that would be my only complaint - that their smallest bag is not cheap so if you don't like it then you're out the whole thing (though I do believe when Enzo didn't like it they were told to just donate it and were refunded) so not the biggest risk.

For some reason I also thought that Karen had tried it with her gang? Could be wrong about that - @krandall ?

It would be interesting to hear from others. I also thought some folks were saying their dogs like certain Dr. Harvey mixes and not others. But that may have been a different dog group.

No, I tried Four Leaf Rover and if I remember right, my dogs were “ok” with it, but it mad me so allergic in its dry state that I couldn’t work with it.

I tried another one of the frozen foods, but I don’t think it was All Provide. I remember it smelled strongly of spearmint, and my dogs wouldn’t touch it.

I believe the food with spearmint is Raised Right. I have heard others complain about its minty smell which they believe turned off the dogs.

I think you’re right!

how much does Marco weigh? Around 5 oz a meal or a day?

i started feeding my dog dr. Harvey’s veg to bowl which requires 8 oz of protein per day along with mix. I used primarily ground turkey Or ground beef. My dog stopped eating eat after months of doing fine on it. I then put her on small batch freeze dried raw beef flavor. I found that $140 per month is a bit steep for my pocket. 5 Pattie’s per day. She’s been on it about3 months and is now bored with it and virtually eats one meal a day at night because she’s starving. I am now trying turkey All Provide raw and will gently cook it myself instead of buying the gently cooked. It requires 4 oz per day in their guidelines for a 13 lb dog and dr Harvey’s requires 8 oz a day. That is a very big difference. Any suggestions for a good freeze dried raw that won’t break the bank?
We switched to Stella & Chewy Dinner Patties! She loves it. We called customer support for directions. They gave us very special directions that we must rehydrate freeze dried dog food!

(Sorry this is so late - Marco is a Large Boi, he's been stable at 18lbs for about a year now... and the 5 oz of fresh/raw is per meal; he actually gets freeze dried raw for his second meal, we mix brands/raw/fd/cooked/different proteins most every day. My focus is on his total calories/day, and the volume of food varies a bit between fresh and freeze dried.)
